The Third term Nonsense is getting Irritating, i wonder how it works out for you? Its terible that, the Riff Raffs we have as Politicians are too busy being stupid, that they don't see people don;t like them anymore.
There are really more important issues to address, yet, they settle for this and that politics, thats what i call Politics of the Unintelligent.
By the way, do i think its really hard to Manage Nigeria. I think all that a President need to do in Nigeria is put the true professionals in the right places. Take a look at the Ministry of Sports and the zoning that occus there, we are bombarded with people of Northern origin, who alwayz tend not to know what to do. Take a look at the Ministry of Power and Steel, it a layer today, and a Consultant tommorrow. You dnt need to be a nuclear psychologist(if that exists), to know that that Ministry is a total Disaster. PHCN, has had a man at its helm for say 5-6yrs yet he is not thrown out for incompetence. Let me stop here b4 , they send EFCC, to intimidate me, thats what they do these dayz, ask the opponents of the THIRD TERM AGENDA!!!!!!!!
Billionares Too much!!!!!!!!!
Making a billion just isn’t what it used to be.
In our inaugural ranking of the world’s richest people 20 years ago we uncovered some 140 billionaires. This year the list is a record 793, up 102 from last year.
They’re worth a combined US$2.6 trillion (£1.5 trillion), up 18% since last March. Their average net worth: $3.3 billion (£1.9 billion). Strong stock markets around the world (the US being the notable exception) contributed to this surge in wealth.
Bill Gates retains his title as the world’s richest person for the twelfth straight year, proving that while it’s getting easier to make a billion, the same can’t be said for making $50 billion (£28.7 billion).
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, 39, was just outside the top 20. He liquidated his biggest asset last year for $13 billion (£7.5 billion).
India, whose BSE Sensex market was up 54% in the past 12 months, is home to 10 new billionaires, more than any other country besides the US.
Notable newcomers include Kushal Pal Singh, India’s biggest real estate developer; Tulsi Tanti, a former textile trader whose alternative energy company owns Asia’s largest wind farm and Vijay Mallya, the liquor tycoon behind Kingfisher beer.
China now has eight billionaires, four times as many as last year. Solar power mogul Zhengrong Shi joins the list at $2.2 billion (£1.3 billion).
Russia, whose RTS stock exchange was up 108%, benefited from strong gains in commodities prices.
The surge swelled the fortunes of its 33 billionaires, including seven newcomers who join the list. Russians are worth $173 billion (£99.3 billion) this year, $82 billion (£47 billion) more than last year.
The world’s wealthiest also continue to find new ways to make money.
Consider the appearance of online gambling tycoons. PartyGaming, the company that operates the popular PartyPoker site, went public on the LSE last June, turning three of its founders into billionaires overnight.
Among the three is American Ruth Parasol, the list’s only new self-made woman.
Canadian playboy Calvin Ayre went down to Costa Rica a decade ago and began taking bets over the internet.
Most of his revenue comes from the US, where online gaming is illegal.
Now he too is a billionaire, and one, at least so far, beyond the extraterritorial reach of the US law enforcement and tax authorities.
Old faces
The US is home to 44 new billionaires and commands nearly half of the fortunes on the roster.
In second place behind Bill Gates is his good friend and bridge partner Warren Buffett. The Sage of Omaha is worth $42 billion (£24.1 billion) this year, $2 billion (£1.1 billion) less than last.
Other notables in the Top 20 include number 7 and Bernard Arnault, the pope of fashion who runs LVMH and oversees its high-end brands including Louis Vuittton and Dom Perignon.
Girl power
Seventy-eight women make the list, 10 more than last year, though only six are self-made including the Queen of All Media, Oprah Winfrey, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and Ebay’s Meg Whitman.
Hind Hariri, daughter of slain Lebanese prime minister Rafik Hariri, who is eight months younger than Germany’s Prince Albert von Thurn und Taxis, is, at 22, the list’s youngest member.
Twelve people return to the list including Hiroshi Mikitani, founder of Japanese Internet shopping mall Rakuten.
Thirty-nine people depart from it. Eleven of them died, including John Walton, the son of Wal-Mart founder Sam Walton; he perished in a plane crash last June.
The other 28 fell off either because of stock drops, repercussions from dubious ethics or because we discovered they shared it with more family members (individually, they each had less than $1 billion, or £600 million).
High profile drop-offs include Martha Stewart, whose net worth has fallen to an estimated $500 million (£286.9 million) since she got out of jail, and Mikhail Khodorkovsky, once Russia’s richest man, who was convicted of fraud and theft and is serving an eight-year-prison sentence in Eastern Siberia.
"HAMAS" do u know what that name is or who it stands for? That a question many of my friends might end up not know the answer to and i think its shameful, yet it is shameful that u, yes u reading this and not knowing what happens in the world around can claim to be knowlegable, if u cant catch up wit the potential "BOMB" thats setting ittself in the Middle East with "HAMAS" the Palestinean terror group(as the American Government would choose to refer to it as), actually it is an Armed group of palestinieans that have over the year fought the Isreali people in search of a truely free Palestinean State occupying the contentious area of land bekieved to them as their own, and to the Isreali people asthe promised land ordained by GOD to them.
HAMAS has just won the major block of seats in the recently carried out paliamentary elections and in so doin have put them in the position to Principally form a Goverment, this is something the American, Isreali, and maybe the Conservative World Powers would not like to see happen , becuase of the imminent threat to peace that has been creeping in no matter how slow, after the death of Arafat. How Did they win? Thats a question i would try to peice together, in this write up, so happy reading, and thanx again for taking ur time to check up this site.
They won because they were seen as honest and efficient and Fatah were not.
The attacks Hamas has carried out in Israel also attracted votes but Palestinians were more concerned about their internal problems.
Hamas will probably want a period of stability to build their new government. And they could be pragmatic.
In the last few months, they have been discussing strengthening and extending the current ceasefire with the Israelis and pointedly not ruling out indirect negotiations with them.
Symbolic clashes
Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas, who also heads Fatah, hopes his party will become a loyal opposition.
Fatah minister Saeb Erekat siad his party will not join a coalition with Hamas.
He is hoping that Hamas' efficient image will be tarnished once they are confronted with the realities of office and the ever-present Israeli occupation.
Clashes between Fatah and Hamas men may be a worrying omen |
The first big test will be an orderly transfer of power. If they can do it, Palestinians can at least hope for national unity.
If they cannot, their immediate future is grim. That is why the clashes outside the Palestinian legislative council between supporters of Fatah and Hamas were so symbolic and so worrying for Palestinians.
More serious confrontations between the two sides would be disastrous for the Palestinians and anyone who wants stability in the Middle East.
That includes Israel. Before the election, it did not have any political contacts with the Palestinian Authority.
Israel did not consider Mr Abbas to be a partner for peace because he would not disarm Hamas.
Lasting commitment
The policy of ignoring the Palestinian Authority will now be deepened.
Once Israel has been through its own general election at the end of March, the new government might decide to take more unilateral steps, as Prime Minister Ariel Sharon did when he pulled out of Gaza last summer.
Next moves will include completing the walls and fences of the separation barrier and perhaps even moving towards a unilateral decision to fix the route of Israel's eastern frontier with the Palestinians.
The founding charter of Hamas declares that the whole of Palestine is Islamic land - that includes the territory that now comprises Israel, Gaza and the West Bank.
It commits Hamas to the destruction of the Jewish state. That commitment was not mentioned in the Hamas manifesto for the elections but it will stay.
Dropping it is not conceivable under current conditions
The Cup Of African Nations 2006, has got to its head start, i purposely did not want to make any comment be4 the competition started on Friday the 20th, but its been okay at least due to the impressive play of a couple of teams, i must say am proud of the Nigerian "Super Eagles", who breezed past the BlackStars"Diming" if i must confess(sorry i was just jokin), wit that Ballistic Missile from the Boy Taye, i have been impressed by the perfomances of Congo D.R., Libya(but that came too late), Ghana, Guinea, and too some point Ivory Coast. I have not been impressed wit Tunisia yet( cos i still do not feel they are African Champions), Morroco( i thut they would b title contenders), Cameroun(I feel they would get the test of their competition in the hands of Togo 2day), and Egypt(They sure dont seem like they can win this on home soil). NIgeria for the FINAL i dere say cos u see they have the elements.
Sure a few of my friends would want me to use this medium to analyse the Match againt Ghana, i would, but u can alwayz count on me to go for the kill. Here it goes, Oruma(5) messed up, he failed to do a job stated clearly for his position(Ball Delivery), and that cost us the chance of having our potential assassins Obagol(4) and Julius(6) from contesting for the Highest Goal scorer, i wish J.J. Okocha would get back to full fitness, then u would see what i mean. Chidi Odiah(3) can do a whole lot better, cos he was woeful defensively(which i think i his job description), rather than attacking cos there are people who can do that job a whole lot better.I agree wit those that say Yobo(5) can do better, i think he needs to concentrate on his position too, he can show u wen u least expect that he is a defender of choice wen hes in concentration. Enyeama(7) was special on the day wit some world class saves that kept us in the game, cos if those guy had scored it would have been lock-up shop time. The others had a good Above average displayand so they get 6, Oruma gets 5 only becos he actually got hacked down acouple of times earning free kicks including the one erronusly attributed to Kanu, that gave Taye(8) the Ballistic Son his goal scoring chance. I belive we canbeat the other teams in our group and set-up a meeting wit Tunisia( Yes i blive they would come out second in their group, behind Guniea). Let me rest my case b4 people start rushing this site believing its a sports or Nations Cup update site, the Ladies wont want that would they?
OYO LAWLESSNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe Oyo people have failed Democracy in this country of ours by allowing a man who can not inspire a group of Nursery School children to getting even 35% in a maths test or even get a bronze medal in an inter-house sports competition, to hijack the power of themselves. It is shameful to watch as the man removes someone i beleived would set them on a positive note ahead.Let me stop ther cos am about to rip into the Old man(abi nah Godfather).
TODAY in 1981, thw world was left shocked with the attempted assassination attack on the Pope, the attacker AGCA MEHMET ALI was strong willed and went through a life of waiting for his chance to bring the Christian World into chaos, he is an intersting figure and i was drawn ,though not for his believe, but his life story, it would interest u to check up the book "The Pontiff" its a master piece, and its an eye opener.TAKE YOUR TIME TO CHECK OUT THIS REVEIW of the days events in 1981 at about 1715 hrs GMT and the story of his release today in 2006, but it would interest you to know that the Pope forgave the Turkish man and related with him before his death, a man worth looking up to.R.I.P.
1981: Thousands see Pope shot in Rome
The Pope has been shot four times as he blessed the crowds in St Peter's Square in Rome.
Surgeons have performed a five-hour operation and say they hope he will make a full recovery.
At about 1715 local time, the Pope was being driven in his Popemobile through a crowd of about 20,000 worshippers when he was hit by four bullets fired from a 9mm pistol some 15 feet away.
Two struck him in the stomach, one in his right arm and the fourth hit his little finger.
Police arrested a 23-year-old man who said he was a Turkish citizen and gave his name as Mehmet Ali Hagca.
He kept repeating: "I couldn't care less about life."
The Turkish press has reported Hagca was jailed for the killing of Turkish newspaper editor Abdi Ipecki in February 1979. But he escaped from prison and left behind a letter vowing to kill the pontiff just before the Pope visited Turkey in 1979.
Horrified witnesses
Many of those who witnessed the shooting in the crowded square burst into tears, or screamed and fell to their knees in disbelief.
The Pope collapsed and was driven at speed into the Vatican complex and from there by ambulance to hospital.
Vatican Radio has appealed to the world to pray for his survival.
The Queen and the Archbishop of Canterbury have expressed their shock and deep sympathy for the Pope and his followers.
Pope John Paul II, formerly Cardinal Karol Wojtyla of Poland, became Pope in 1978. He is the first non-Italian pope in 455 years.
He is also the most widely travelled pontiff in the Vatican's history. Vatican officials have often said in private that they feared for his safety during his frequent contacts with enthusiastic crowds wherever he goes.
Man who shot Pope freed from jail
Mehmet Ali Agca is released from prison
Watch Agca's release
The Turkish gunman who tried to kill Pope John Paul II nearly 25 years ago has been released from prison.
Mehmet Ali Agca had been imprisoned in the Turkish city of Istanbul for other offences since being extradited in 2000 after 19 years in Italian jails.
The 48-year-old wants to work for democracy upon his release, his lawyer told the Associated Press.
Agca shot the Pope in St Peter's Square in 1981. The pontiff later visited him in jail and publicly forgave him.
The gunman was pardoned by the Italian authorities in 2000 and extradited to Turkey, where he was jailed for the 1979 murder of a left-wing Turkish journalist and two bank robberies.
Last week, a Turkish court ruled Agca had completed his term for those offences.
His release has been divisive in Turkey.
The daughter of the journalist he killed published a front-page letter in the national newspaper Milliyet calling him "not just the murderer of my father.... I see him as our national assassin".
Agca fired at Pope John Paul as he waved to crowds in Rome
Nationalist supporters cheered Agca's release, throwing flowers at the car that took him away from the prison.
"Mehmet Ali Agca is a role model for everyone who loves the Turkish nation," Seyfi Yilmaz told the Associated Press news agency outside the prison.
Agca's lawyer, Mustafa Demirbag, said his client was relishing the prospect of freedom and wanted to put the assassination attempt behind him.
"He says: 'I want to extend the hand of peace and friendship to everyone. I want to engage a struggle for democracy and culture'," Mr Demirbag told AP.
Soviet 'involvement'
Agca was a 23-year-old known criminal with links to Turkish far-right paramilitaries at the time of the attack in Rome.
The Turkish government should guarantee Agca's security because he knows so many secrets and he may be killed
Ferdinando Imposimato
Former Italian magistrate
He has never clearly explained why he shot the Pope.
There were claims that the Soviet KGB and its Bulgarian counterpart were involved.
Prosecutors at a trial in 1986 failed to prove a link to the Bulgarian secret service. On a 2002 visit to Sofia, John Paul said he had never believed in a Bulgarian link to the shooting.
One of Italy's most respected magistrates in the 1980s, who probed the attack at the time, warned on Wednesday that Agca's life was at risk because of the many secrets he knows.
Ferdinando Imposimato is convinced of Soviet bloc involvement. The Pope at the time was preaching a message that challenged Soviet Communism's collectivist ideology.
"I think the Turkish government should guarantee Agca's security because he knows so many secrets and he may be killed," he said in an interview with Reuters Television.
Pope John Paul II meets Mehmet Ali Agca in an Italian prison in 1983
On This Day: Pope shot
Analysis: Plot mystery
"The best thing would be to keep him in jail," he said.
Agca fired several times at the late Pope John Paul II as he waved to crowds from an open car.
The critically wounded pontiff underwent emergency surgery for serious wounds to the abdomen and hand. According to his own account, he only just survived.
He met his attacker two years later in an Italian prison, when he publicly forgave him.
Agca now must deal with the military authorities, who say he never performed his mandatory service.
His lawyer says he will ask for a medical exemption or pay a fine.
Italian newspapers are claiming documents found in the files of the former East German intelligence service confirm longstanding suspicions that the Soviet Union was behind the attempted assassination of Pope John Paul II in 1981.
On 13 May, 1981, a Turkish gunman, Ali Agca, fired at the Pope in Rome's St Peter's Square, hitting him in the abdomen and the hand. The critically wounded Pope underwent emergency surgery - and, on his own account, only just survived.
Agca - a known criminal with links to Turkish far-right paramilitaries - spent 19 years in an Italian prison. He is currently serving a prison term in Turkey, unconnected with the papal shooting, and is expected to regain his freedom in a couple of years' time.
Soon after the shooting, suspicion fell on the Bulgarian Communist intelligence service. Agca and other Turkish gangsters were known to have stayed in the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, several times.
However, an Italian court acquitted three Bulgarians for lack of evidence. Agca, who was called as a witness, appeared to feign madness - declaring he had acted on God's instructions.
He has subsequently claimed to be the new Messiah and to have conspired with Vatican prelates, who recognised his true identity.
He also says he is writing a book which will reveal all. Again, there are suspicions that Agca may have been advised to play the fool as a way of concealing the trail and securing his own personal safety.
Bulgarian files
The commonly held theory is that the decision to kill the Pope was taken by the Soviet leadership - which was alarmed that the Polish-born head of the Catholic Church was undermining Soviet influence in Central Europe.
Ali Agca
The Pope met his would-be assassin Ali Agca in his jail cell
Millions of Poles had come out to greet the Pope on his first return visit to Poland in 1979. The Pope was preaching a message openly challenging Soviet Communism's collectivist ideology - by arguing that the state's legitimate function was to create a safe environment for the exercise of individual liberty.
The following year, Solidarity was established as a mass movement for political change.
The claim that documents exist finally proving a link between the Soviet Union, the former Bulgarian and East German intelligence services, and the shooting of the Pope, appears to come from Ferdinando Imposimato - a prosecutor at the abortive trial of the three Bulgarians.
The Italian parliament has recently begun its own investigation into the past activity of Soviet bloc intelligence services on Italian soil. Again, there may be a possibility that this week's press publicity could be aimed at pressuring the Bulgarians into releasing any relevant documents they may have acquired.
The Pope himself may or may not be privy to new information. Three years ago, just before a visit to Bulgaria, he declared that he loved the Bulgarians too much to suspect them of complicity in his shooting.
However, in a new book, published earlier this year, the Pope states that Ali Agca was a professional hit man, who had been commissioned by others to do the shooting.

ANOTHER DISASTER!!!!!!!!!!
Its worrying, that we still exist in an atmospher in which noting works, and too grieved to start talkin about the details(gory ones) of this mishap, but at the little details that where not taken into consideration by those who we know dubiously got into positions of Authority and Power in our country. Let me start with the fact , that, there was no Fire department( i mean purposeful, although it exists on paper, and yearly budgetary allocations are pumped into this Ghost department.People would say that ther was a fire department, but how would tere be a fire department, where there does not exist a sophisticated Fire-Truck, and wit the archaic truck, ther was no water, what a Farce, no Clinic or Medical Center in an acclaimed International Airport, imagine how many lives would have been saved if these little details no matter how small were in place, am going to stop here, cos am letting tear drops from my eyes, May the souls of the Departed rest in peace, if they can find any.

(OLD)Let me put it right, "Unprovocative Dressing" , that is the right word to use, we would be right back.
(OLD)Nigerian Jet Crashes, Killing 117
Bellview Airlines flight 210, traveling from Lagos to Abuja, crashed late Saturday, shortly after take-off, killing 11 passengers and six members of the crew.
The impact left a massive smoking crater in the earth. Much of the huge Boeing 737 fuselage was missing, however, and unidentifiable fragments of the wreckage, clothes and body parts lay scattered in trees and over a wide area, according to investigators.
"Our preliminary position is that the plane seemed to have lost control and went down," Fidelis Onyeriri, head of the National Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), told Allafrica.com. "The weather was not too bad, but there was lightning. An airplane struck by lightning could lose total control."
Pilots issued a distress call before the plane vanished from the radar, according to state radio reports.
Sabotage has not been ruled out as the cause, according to reports. Hopefully, the United States will be able to help identify the cause of the disaster, Aviation Minister Babalola Borishade said Monday.
"Looking at this site it's really devastating. For now we just believe it's an accident," Borishade said.
Bellview serves West African, England and India. Saturday's crash was the first in the airlines 10-year history.
Rosa Parks the Icon
Civil rights pioneer Rosa Parks has died,
Parks, 92, reportedly died around 7 p.m. Monday at St. John Hospital on Detroit's east side.
Parks' refusal to give up her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Ala., in 1955 landed her in jail and sparked a bus boycott that is considered the start of the modern civil rights movement. The bus is on display at the Henry Ford Museum, Dearborn.
Parks, was born Feb. 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Ala. She lived in Detroit.
